CKD (Complete Knock-Down) Breakdown of Interactive Display Components

CKD BreakdownShenzhen Fangcheng Tech Co., Ltd.

The Complete Knock-Down (CKD) approach involves shipping interactive displays as modular components, such as the frame with a touch module, LCD panel, motherboard, housing, and accessories, for cost-efficient transportation and localized assembly. This method reduces logistics costs, simplifies quality control, and enables customization for regional markets. By dividing the product into key parts, CKD facilitates streamlined assembly while ensuring flexibility and adaptability for manufacturers and distributors.

Frame with Touch Module:

  • Touchscreen Glass: Fully dis-assembled touchscreen using infrared, or capacitive touch technology. The touchscreen glass, protective frame, integrated touch sensor controller, and all associated wiring, connectors, and accessories would be shipped individually in separate packages. The touch module would typically be fully unassembled.
  • Protective Frame: Combined with an integrated touch sensor controller for enhanced durability and performance.
  • In CKD, the product is disassembled into its individual components or parts, often down to the most granular level. All parts are shipped separately, including sub-components such as screws, brackets, and connectors.

LCD Panel:

  • Pre-Tested LCD Screen: Includes IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology, equipped with mounted polarizers. Viewing angle 178° both horizontally and vertically. The LCD screen , polarizers, light guide plates, backlight assembly, and even the mounting frame would all be packed and shipped separately.
  • Backlight Unit: Shipped separately to prevent damage during transportation.

Motherboard (Mainboard):

  • Supplied unmounted: The CPU and GPU are shipped separately from the PCB (Printed Circuit Board). This provides flexibility in choosing different processors or configurations based on customer requirements. RAM and ROM are also provided separately for mounting onto the PCB during final assembly.
  • Supplied unmounted: Connectors such as HDMI, USB, and LAN are shipped separately. These connectors will be installed onto the PCB during the final assembly.
  • Protective wrapping: The PCB and components are carefully wrapped in static shielding material to prevent damage during transportation and handling.

Housing (Casing):

  • Disassembled Covers: The rear cover is shipped separately and must be attached during final assembly. It is designed with mounting slots for fans and heatsinks. The front frame is shipped separately, to be attached during assembly. It includes pre-cut slots and alignment guides for easy installation.
  • Cooling Components: Fans and heat sinks are packed separately, to be mounted during the assembly process.
  • Mounting Brackets or Holes: Supplied as individual units for flexible installation.

Cables and Connectors:

  • Labeled Cables: Ribbon cables, power cables, and signal wires are shipped separately, pre-cut and labeled for quick installation during final assembly.
  • USB Port Boards: USB boards and additional connectors are shipped separately to be integrated into the mainboard during assembly.

Audio and Connectivity Modules:

  • Built-In Speakers: Built-in speakers are packed in protective packaging to avoid damage during transportation. They are installed during final assembly.
  • Optional Modules: Wi-Fi modules and antennas included as standalone components.
  • Camera & Microphones: Packed separately for straightforward assembly.

Power Supply Unit:

  • AC/DC Power Adapters: The internal power modules are provided separately, allowing for flexibility in configuration based on voltage and power requirements.
  • Voltage Regulators: These are provided as individual units to be installed during the assembly process

Control Buttons and Sensors:

  • Labeled Control Buttons: The control buttons are delivered separately, pre-labeled for easy installation during the final assembly.
  • Ambient Light & Proximity Sensors: These sensors are packed individually in protective cases for easy installation in the final product.

Fasteners:

  • Organized Sets: Includes screws, clips, rubber pads, and grommets.
  • Custom Assembly Kits: Specific kits provided for each section of the display.

Software & Firmware:

  • Drivers & Firmware: All required drivers and firmware are provided on USB drives for easy installation during assembly.
  • Installation Tools: Supplied with detailed instructions for quick deployment. All necessary tools and guides for quick deployment are included to assist with the assembly process.

Packaging & Accessories:

  • Documents: Detailed assembly guides, user manuals, and warranty cards are provided in each shipment for the assembly team.
  • Styluses or Pens: Individually packed, the remote control is delivered with batteries and protective covers.

Testing and Calibration Tools (Optional):

  • Diagnostic devices are provided for final touch and functionality checks during the assembly process. (Optional)
  • Calibration Tools: USB drives for on-site adjustments. (Optional)

This CKD (Completely Knocked Down) breakdown ensures that components are shipped in a modular format, reducing costs and providing flexibility for manufacturers and distributors during assembly.
